Bobby Reed Jazz/R&B Trio with Belinda
Mark Smith (drums); Bobby Reed (keyboard), Belinda (vocals) & Jerry Mellix (sax)
Hey all you music lovers! I managed to persuade our own Brownsville gal and renowned singer, Belinda Nicholas, to entertain for us during our POM festival. Dig this bio: Belinda has toured Europe, singing for the Queen of England, Pope John Paul and has also graced her voice for President George H.W.Bush. There is much much more about this distinguished lady and we are so proud that she hails from good ole Brownsville. She recently performed at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Brownsville on Palm Sunday with her gospel voice rocking the congregation. You name it--she sings it. Belinda is also working on her own solo CD and we can't wait to hear it.
Listen to this gospel song: Alabaster Box
She mainly performs with the Subway Show band from West Virginia (which we cannot afford to book for our POM festival), but has agreed to perform for us with the Bobby Reed Trio on June 1st at the West Brownsville American Legion pavillion from 1-4pm. Not only will we be kicking off our month of June concerts for the entire community to enjoy, but we will be celebrating the "homecoming of our own Brownsville celebrity" -- Belinda ! "
You ain't heard nothing yet, until you hear this woman's dynamic voice. Check out these sound tracks of Belinda singing and tell me what you think!

2. Rock Steady: Eat your heart out Aretha! Download Rocksteady
3. Talkin' bout some blues! How's this Dan Catuara?
I personally want to thank Belinda for agreeing to perform for our POM festival at a price she is not accustomed to receiving (she is doing it out of the kindness of her heart) and may God bless her for coming to our rescue to perform for us. Thank you so much Belinda--I luv you gurl!
NOTE: We will have craft/food vendors during all of our performances at the West Brownsville American Legion, Post #940 at the patio and/or pavillion. So bring your chairs, blankets, kids, grand parents, etc. and come on out and eat, dance, listen, and enjoy the music. We are ready to get this Power of Music in motion!
PS: Here's is a sound track of Jerry Mellix on sax performing with Belinda's band. "Out of Sight"...look forward to hearing these musicians on June 1st at the American Legion.
