The BAS Alumni Association sent a letter today, February 12th, to Dr. Savini and BASD for the approval and support with our latest project—proposal for BASD Alumni Walkway. Yours truly, Lenora Byrd, Vice President of the Alumni Association, spent the last month researching this project and found a suitable company that can get us started with this proposal. The Strategic Planning Committee agreed on February 11th that a personalized brick of BASD alumni displayed on a walkway at the high school is certain to keep both spirit and tradition alive at BASD. This is a wonderful way to honor and remember those who attended the high school as well as a way of supporting the BAS Alumni Association membership growth. This would also be an inspiration for our other proposed project: homecoming reunion for BASD alumni this year. Wouldn’t it be great if we could encourage alumni to attend a homecoming reunion and be able to see and walk on our alumni walkway?
This announcement is being shared with the members in our FB BAS Club to not only obtain your feedback and request your assistance with this project, but to also encourage the “powers to be” at BASD to review our proposal and expeditiously approve it so we can start “paving our way to the future BAS Alumni Walkway.” Once we receive their approval and support, I will share with all alumni how the project works. In short, we will offer all BAS alumni the opportunity to purchase a brick with automatic membership in our professional Alumni Association which presently has 250+ paid members.
The following are samples of bricks and a sample walkway:

NOTE: Please leave your comments and feedback HERE in our blog or in our FB club as to how you feel about this proposal so the BASD staff will have your input when they determine whether they will support and approve this proposal (several BASD staff are members in our FB club).
When and if we receive their approval, I will go into detail how the project will be implemented. Thanks for your feedback and input.
