Delores Jean "Poochie" Smith-Fleming, 68, Brownsville, Pa., passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007, in Havencrest Nursing Center. She was born May 30, 1939, in Brownsville, daughter of the late John L. "Mickey" Smith, Sr. and Ella Baker Smith. After graduation from Brownsville High School in 1957, she moved to Pittsburgh where she resided for many years and was worked as a housekeeper and she was employed at a club in Pittsburgh. She relocated back to Brownsville in 1999.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Fleming, Sr.; and two brothers, John L. Smith, Jr. and William A. "Billy" Baker. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: James M. "Mike" Fleming, Jr. and Leslie A. Smith both of Pittsburgh; three brothers: Richard A. Smith, Sr. and wife, Veronica, Annapolis, Md., and Charles J. Smith and Gary Smith, both of Brownsville; four sisters: Patricia A., LaVerne and Thelma Baker, all of Brownsville, and Jean Smith of Pittsburgh; two aunts: Ida Dennis, Marianna, and Versie Dennis, of Uniontown; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family today from 7 to 9 p.m., in the LAW FUNERAL HOME, 135 Angle Street, Brownsville, and may attend a funeral service on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at noon, in the Full Gospel Church of Deliverance, 1208 6th Street, Hiller, Pa., officiated by the Rev. Karl Kemp, Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Brownsville, with the Rev. Dr. Armenia Johnson, Sr. Associate Pastor, Nazarene Baptist Church, Pittsburgh, eulogizing. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
